PETITION EDGAR'S LAW Animal Victimization BY ENTERING YOUR NAME, ADDRESS, CITY & STATE BELOW, YOU ENDORSE THE FOLLOWING PETITION TO BE SUBMITTED TO LEGISLATORS AT THE STATE & FEDERAL LEVELS: PURPOSE: This petition is a request for legislation to enact a bill to protect Greyhounds and other animals from victimization from their adopters and hold them accountable. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN AND ALL OTHERS ENACT: The rightful owner holding a signed contract/security agreement with consideration of a domestic animal may bring civil action and recover noneconomic damages up to $250,000.00 for the loss of that domestic companion animal caused by another person's gross negligence or willful and wanton misconduct. To make it a felony for any adopter of a rescued animal to have the animal euthanized against the contract/Security Agreement from whom the animal was adopted thru. If the contract/security agreement states that the greyhound/animal MUST be returned to the source of adoption, if the result is an unwanted greyhound/animal. "Noneconomic Damages" means any type of pain, suffering, inconvenience, physical impairment, disfigurement, mental anguish, emotional distress, loss of society and companionship, injury or reputation, humiliation or other nonpecuniary damages.
